All of us experience ups and downs during our lives and it's normal and understandable that sometimes it can be difficult to cope. This is where having people you can turn to, who will listen without judgement, can make a real difference.

Many of us want to be there for each other during the difficult times but can really struggle with knowing how to do this. We may believe that we have to have all the answers to be of value or that showing up makes us responsible for fixing the problem. This is not the case.

Providing effective support begins with showing up and with really listening to what is going on for someone and what kind of help they might need. It is about working with a person to help them explore the problem and start to identify solutions. If you're prepared to show up for someone, even if you feel awkward, to let them talk if they wish, without jumping in to recommend solutions, and to be there from a genuine desire to help, then that goes a long way.

At Caring with Clarity we work with you to grow your confidence to support the people in your life, to tackle beliefs which may not be helpful, and to overcome the barriers that you may be experiencing. Working together, we can build stronger, more compassionate communities that can improve quality of life for ourselves and each other.

Will you join us? We currently offer MHFA training, with more resources coming soon.
